It is not doubted that science has been also affected by the new concepts introduced by this new era, post-modernism. Relativism, post truth, alternative facts, media spin are blurring the boundaries between facts and opinions, putting science at stake.
We ought to defend the scientific method that has allowed us to acquire knowledge throughout our history. This knowledge has brought humanity welfare by fighting diseases that in the past, many people used to die from. Everyday technological advances that have made our lives easier and we use it every day. And finally, science has also brought democracy to our world.
So, there is more than one reason to go out the streets and defend science from relativism and political hostility against evidence-based research.
