We take too much for granted in today’s society. Collectively, we think science is for nerds, we see big issues as someone else’s problem and we arrogantly assume that we will survive indefinitely as a species.
We couldn’t be more wrong. Imagine the audacity to think that 9 billion people could soon live on our planet and (even despite our best intentions) not negatively impact upon it.
The lack of appreciation for evidence and expertise is rife throughout society in politics, in the media, and from medicine to agriculture. I want to help new generations appreciate the amazing complexity within and around us.
